Many people when you ask them about their favorite color, they don’t really care. They just throw out whatever color comes to mind, whatever they see around them, no thought, no meaning, no reason. But colors are more than just random choices.

And here’s why my favorite color is green.

Green in Islam

There are several indications that green was a favored or significant color in Islamic tradition and possibly for the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself, but I would like to mention that most of the hadiths that say green is his favorite color are weak

tho the Quran repeatedly associates green with paradise, describing its inhabitants as wearing green silk and reclining on green cushions. (Surah Al-Insan, 76:21). also in Surah Al-Kahf (18:31) and Surah Ar-Rahman (55:76)

and the iconic religious Green Dome in Medina, covers the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Nature

c’mon we ain’t gonna talk about green without talking about nature!

and btw green isn’t just some random color nature picked. It’s the result of Chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for photosynthesis, which powers almost all life on Earth and Chlorophyll is one of the most crucial elements in nature. The word “chlorophyll” comes from Greek, where chloros (χλωρός) means “green” and phyllon (φύλλον) means “leaf”

also cuz I like green apples and green food in general :)

Green Light

The human eye is most sensitive to green light, making it the most comfortable color to look at

This is why night-vision goggles use green displays because the color offers the best contrast and visibility in low-light conditions. The sensitivity of the human eye to green light, along with its ability to enhance contrast and reduce eye strain, makes it the optimal choice for night vision applications

for me green isn’t just a color, it’s all life, nature, green is everywhere. So while some people just pick any color when asked about their favorite
